What: Mînî hrpa Indigenous Cultural Centre Popup

Mînî Hrpa, the Indigenous Cultural Centre Popup that is a program of BCF, is back on Saturday, October 28. This will be the third popup this year.
Bow Valley residents and visitors from near and far can participate in this unique Stoney Nakoda cultural learning and sharing experience. The goal is to help build capacity for grassroots Indigenous community leaders to organize around the Mînî Hrpa vision and create opportunities for visitors and residents to experience Indigenous culture in authentic, community-led ways.

There will be live performances at 12pm and 2pm in the Banff Avenue Square. In between, 20-minute cultural learning activities will be happening inside the BCF office at 214 Banff Avenue, themed around poetry and performing arts. Nakoda Youth Council will offer a session about their recent photography project. There will be art wall installations and conversations and cultural learnings around celebrations of Stoney Nakoda people.
Vendors will be selling their own goods, offering an opportunity to purchase direct from local Indigenous artisans.
How can you support Mini Hrpa? The Truth and Reconciliation Fund held at Banff Canmore Foundation is specifically working to support Mînî Hrpa. Until December 31, 2023, gifts to this fund will be directed to Mînî Hrpa.
